We are looking for a Network SME as an architect for the network component of our Technical Solution Services.

The Network SME Consultant is to understand our internal and external customer’s business environments, and business drivers to the following requirements:

  • Contribute to Design workshops and engage with the customer to assure projects approach and output artefacts.

  • Contribute to solution / service / security trade-off decisions.

  • Contribute to creating, developing and documenting Design of the project’s solution during the relevant phase

  • Coordination and support of activities impacting the networks estate

  • Research new technologies and solutions, and ensure appropriate levels of assurance

  • Preparation and involvement for the Implementation / Delivery phases of projects.

  • Ability to work across Teams / Projects, and to challenging timescales

Location: UK wide (Remote working, Home working with customer travel where required)


Clearance: Ideally SC cleared, or ability to be SC cleared

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of large-scale network transformations.

  • Understanding of broader Data Centre technologies (Server, Storage, Networks, Server Virtualisation etc.)

  • Cisco CCNA minimum, preferable in switching and routing

  • Cisco Data Centre Interconnect - OTV, VXLAN

  • Cisco WAN - MPLS, BGP and SD_WAN

  • Cisco Telephony - Call Manager and Contact Centre

  • Project Management experience & qualifications.

  • Virtualisation - Cisco UCS and Hyperflex

  • Network Management - Cisco DNA, APIC, Prime, ISE and SNMP

  • Good working knowledge and experience in a Cisco environment

  • Knowledge of firewalls

  • Demonstrates excellent troubleshooting skills, Intruder Detection Systems, LAN & WAN/SD-WAN

  • Good knowledge of mobile network architecture (2G/3G/4G/5G)

  • Knowledge of IT Security fundamentals including TOGAF. VMWare

  • Cloud hosting (AWS and Azure preferred)

  • Strong background with core network, and storage technologies in large-scale deployments

Salary Range: £50-65k depending on experience.
